Sailors’ Society is an international Christian charity working in ports across the world. Our chaplains help seafarers and their families from all faiths and none with welfare and practical support. We visit ships in ports and talk with seafarers away from home for up to a year at a time; we help them get in touch with much-missed loved ones and access medical treatment; we liaise with frightened families when seafarers are kidnapped by terrorists or imprisoned, mostly through no fault of their own; and we build homes and schools and provide grants to bring hope and security to seafaring communities.

We cannot do this without your help. Why should you care? Almost everything we own or use comes by sea – our cars, our computers, our phones. We all rely on seafarers. Seafarers rely on us.

Schools – Sailors’ Society

These projects seek to enhance schooling opportunities for seafarers’ children by providing valuable resources that improve their learning, as well as their access to education.

Get Involved: There are many ways you can help us help more.

Can you knit or is climbing mountains or running marathons more your thing? Could you be our champion in your community, workplace or church or are you interested in volunteering in our charity shops?

For churches, we have our Church Connect scheme, inviting you to partner with us in prayer, online and in mission. Businesses can support us with sponsorship, grants or getting involved in events and challenges.

To support the Sailors’ Society, Our Managing Director Roger Storey will be joining their 4-day Challenge trekking up Mount Fansipan (3,143m)  in North of Vietnam from 21st to 24th April.
